We it seems like Entropia Universe has done it again. On December 14 2009 the extremely popular Crystal Palace Space Station went up for auction on Entropia Universe. The ending bid was set by the avatar Buzz Erik Lightyear and closed at 3,300,000 PED (Project Entropia Dollars) the equivalent of 330,00 U.S. Dollars. Breaking the last world record for virtual property of 1,000,000 PED or 100,000 U.S. Dollars set by the purchase of the asteroid Club NEVERDIE by avatar Jon NEVERDIE Jacobs. Now I know you’re all thinking “that guy is insane!” But by placing taxes on activities like hunting and mining, this investment could actually pay off and start generating profit with some time. This is a true testament to what can be accomplished in the Entropia Universe. So if you think that you have what it takes to stake your claim on Planet Calypso join me, Nicolas Radioactive d’Entremont, and the thousands of other players who are already colonizing and exploring this new world. Your destiny awaits!

Avatar
I seen James Cameron’s Avatar in Imax 3D on it’s premier. Due to it’s five hundred million dollar budget I went in expecting to see the best movie ever made. And to be honest, that’s exactly what I got. There wasn’t a point in the movie where I wasn’t amazed by it. The movie was almost entirely CGI, but was executed so well that most of the time I had no idea if what I was looking at was real or fake. The story was excellent and balanced so well with the fighting scenes witch were epic by the way, that after two hours and forty five minutes I still didn’t feel that the movie was dragging on. It was start to finish the best movie I have ever seen, so stop reading this and get to the nearest theatre now before it’s to late! You will not be disappointed.

New Space
Well I noticed that my computer’s HDD was starting to get filled up with school files, movies, games, music, and just junk, so I decided that I needed a external hard drive. I found a 1 TB iPro Drive at Future Shop for around $100. The drive itself is quite small, quiet, and runs off external power only… could be a small set back. It’s super fast too, so fast that I can actually run games right off the drive itself, no lag, or long load times. It’s perfect for back ups, and just freeing up some well needed space. And for $100, its probably the best deal you could get anywheres.

Entropia Universe: Where the Streets Have No Name
Well now that Entropia Universe is well into VU10, I thought that it was about time that I made a new up to date trailer for YouTube. So after hours of running, and over 30 minutes, 13 Gb of total video, I ended up putting together a nice little trailer that I think represents Entropia Universe pretty well.

Falling Sand Game
Flash, Java and other web based games have been growing in popularity since the first one came out, and to be honest most of them are total crap. Just search for some and you’ll see how utterly horrible and unoriginal most of them are! But every once in a while someone thinks up of an idea so great and original that it’s amazing, and the Falling Sand Game is a testimony to how great originality can really be, and how far it can go. Now… How fun could a game called Falling Sand Game be? Well, you’d be surprised! The whole game is centered on particles of different substances, and physics. Each substance has different properties, and reacts with other substances differently, for example; oil burns, plant grows when it is in contact with water, salt desolves in water… You really have to experiment with the different elements to really understand how everything works. You pretty much do what you want, you can create environments, set fire to things, spawn zombies… If you actually download the game you can load different modifications coded by other people, or make your own, witch change the physics, make new elements, change how they react… The possibilities are endless really. If you need examples of what can be done, just YouTube it and you’ll find stuff created by other people. I find it great because you can download it for Mac, Windows, and Linux, and with the web based versions, you can probably run it on many other devices. So its a great little game to play when your bored, at school, work, or wherever you’re supposed to be paying attention. If you want to dive deeper in the whole Falling Sand subculture, or want to find all sorts of mods/versions of the game you can always go to the official site, and join the forums to talk with other fan of the game. So if you have a few minutes to spare, you should go and check this one out, you might be happy you did! Link to site Here.

EntropiaTube
Well to keep with the topic of all the YouTube stuff I’ve been doing lately, I’m posting about EntropiaTube. So what exactly is EntropiaTube? Well its a brand new YouTube group that I have made for members of the Entropia Universe community! Anything from ads for in-game services/events, tutorials, to random stuff you managed to capture can be posted on the group page, and viewed by people who are actually interested in what you have. This could also be a great way to host video creation contest, and other YouTube events. Anyone is welcome to join and add videos, and every member is essential to the EntropiaTube’s success. So if your one of the thousands of people playing Entropia Universe, or if you want to get in on the action, you can join EntropiaTube, and help make it the number one place for all your Entropia Universe video needs! You can find us here. We also need a logo of sorts, so I might hold a contest on EF if I can get enough EFD.

Need no iPod!
If you ever used iTunes on Windows then you’ll notice that it really sucks! But that’s Windows right? On Mac, iTunes really isn’t that bad, because it works well with all the other features in the OS. But the one big drawback is that is built for iPods and iPods only. So if you want to sync your “non iPod” MP3 player then forget about it. Wait a minute! Don’t do that, I found a neat little app that will help you make your iTunes a little more useful. ITunesMyWalkman is a nice little app that lets you use iTunes to sync your MP3 player! This will work for any device that works as a removable drive, so not only MP3 players, but Cell Phones, Memory Card, Flash Drives… You name it! So to get started just download the app from here, and install it. Still with me? Then once the program is running, I would recommend installing the iTunes script. This will add a menu to your iTunes. Ok now go to iTunes, and you’ll see a new menu button next to “Window”, it looks like some “S” or something. In your iTMW preferences, make sure that the program syncs from the right playlist, the output folder is set up to your external device, and all the settings are how you want them. You can select to make playlists, even convert all the audio files to MP3 for compatibility. Now that everything seems good, close that, and in your iTMW menu, hit synchronies, and let it go, in a few minutes, you will have a nicely synced MP3 player. You can have it sync automatically when your device is plugged in, and has a few nice features that really make this a nice app. So get it today, did I mention that it’s free?
